VS 2008 beta 2 installed

Today I installed the beta 2 of Visual Studio 2008. It was amazingly pain free for me. Of seven installations, half was completely pain free. But TFS 2008 will have to wait. Besides us developing the new product suite for our company, we still have the current product. It will exist for many years still and they won't migrate any time soon. So, before we move on to .NET 3.5, we need a new TFS server. We also need to verify that we can deploy on our clients, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Mobile 5 and Windows Mobile 6. So, no migration on Friday. But we did create some test projects and found some nice features we're dying to implement. But for now, we just have to wait.

Yeah. I installed it on Sunday. Installation takes forever! I have not had any time to look at it yet. Working with a client in Sacramento, CA this week that I might use it for a small SmartClient app.

Nice, keep me posted! We've just been included in Microsoft's metro project for early adopters of 2008 development platform. So if you have any questions, I can pass them along. I'm going to keep you all updated on progress.

What the guys have said so far is that they are amazed on the speed. We've been using Resharper but we hope that we won't have to use that with all the new features.

We'll probably start with migrating the REST server and leave the clients for last. One of the guys tried installing 3.5 on his HTC Touch PDA but was unsuccessful. But we need to test that even more.
